Smyth sewing is generally used on books
requiring high quality, long life spans, and excellent lay flat
characteristics.
Some examples include text books,
library books, law books, juvenile books, and high end coffee table
books.
We have been sewing hard cover books since the
beginning, now using for Astronic Auto Sewers.
Our latest acquisition is an Astor 2000
sewer with thin paper attachment running at 12,000 cycles/hr.
We can sew two up signatures that can be split on out Systems
Binder, and we can stagger-stitch for thin signatures (eliminates
thread buildup).
